I'm working exceptionally hard at not having a heart attack right now. We should get our Visa's next Tuesday and are (probably) flying to China on Wednesday. Nothing like waiting until the last minute, huh?
Breathe, breathe! Remember all you REALLY have to do is get there, and you know it. If you can just do that, somehow the rest will come together. There's only one important thing, and that's being in that one place at that one time. XX
Heather, I'm so excited for you. I can't believe how fast this has been. Chris and I turned in our application a couple of weeks ago for a little girl. Molly Kate is beautiful. Have a great trip. Try not to lose your mind. Get busy girl! Melissa Freeman
I'm in the same boat!!! It's making me crazy, but we still don't have our CA yet so there's time. We are planning to fly out on Wednesday as well. Touring Beijing orphanages first then LB on the 27th!
I understand! I was at the airport when I finally got the call that our visa paperwork was in China. 2 minutes later we boarded the plane:) Enjoy the trip; your daughter is beautiful.
In Chinese mythology the dragon is a divine creature that brings families abundance, prosperity and good fortune. The Chinese often consider themselves "the descendants of the dragon." As for elephants, well, we happen to live in the deep South and met while studying at the University of Alabama - Roll Tide! Alabama's mascot is Big Al, a rather friendly-looking pachyderm.
But the dragon and elephant have merged in a most unlikely way. You see, in addition to having two biological children, we have adopted three amazing children from China. Now we are a family of seven, our experiences chronicled on these pages. Read on to hear the day-to-day ramblings of this Southern family...
I've been married to my college sweetheart for 19 years and am the mother of 5 incredible kids, 3 of whom were born in China. I'm a retired cop (that never really looked like a cop) who currently spends her days wiping noses, driving carpool, and cheering multiple kids on from the sidelines. I love my life and sometimes can't believe that I've really got it this good. Because of that, I thank God for His amazing grace each and every day.
